May Lilacs was inspired by Lilac season in Santa Fe, NM. While visiting in May I witnessed the beauty of these amazing trees and shrubs in their peak of bloom. This painting was created by layering luscious oil paints, oil sticks, pastels and cold wax on a cradled birch panel.
