I grew up in southern Maryland in the small town of Indian Head along the Potomac River. One of my fondest memories was walking to the Mattawoman Creek from our home. All we had to do was cut through a small forest on a dirt path and it was just a short hike to to creek. We'd walk or ride mini bikes for lunch at the creek. Even did a little fishing. Yes, I was a tomboy.
The Mattawoman Creek is a 30 mile long, coastal-plain tributary to the Potomac River with a mouth at Indian Head.
